Mechel increases iron ore output despite Covid-19
Russian miner and steelmaker Mechel’s Korshunovsky mine increased iron ore production 35% on-month in July to 671,000 tonnes, the company says.
The output of iron ore concentrate grew by 54% to 192,000t compared to June. Shipments increased by 40% and were mainly supplied to the enterprises of the Mechel Group.
Korshunovsky mine has continued to operate normally throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
