Mechel increases coal supply to South Korea
Russian miner and steelmaker Mechel has extended the contract for the annual supply of coal to STX Corporation, one of South Korea’s largest trading companies.
Up to 1 million tonnes of coking and thermal coal will be delivered to STX Corporation by December 2021, Kallanish notes. Over the past year, under the current contract, Mechel supplied 800,000t of coal to STX Corporation.
