Mechel ships 250,000t of rail
Mechel's Chelyabinsk Metal Works has delivered to its customers 250,000 tonnes of rail products since the commissioning of its rail mill, Kallanish notes from a Mechel statement.
Mechel’s main rail products customer is Russian Railways (RDZ). Since the beginning of 2016 Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant has shipped 120,000t of rail to the rail operator. Total shipments to the end of the year are planned to rise to 250,000t.
