Mechel fails to secure votes to complete restructuring
Mechel has failed to secure the number of minority shareholder votes required to approve transactions with lender banks needed to complete its restructuring process.
Last month Mechel chairman Igor Zyuzin urged shareholders to vote in favour of the restructuring plan at the extraordinary shareholders’ meeting on 4 March (see Kallanish 9 February). The company’s "...survival" depends on the results of the restructuring, he said.
