Mechel completes pivotal Yakutugol washing plant upgrade
Russian miner and steelmaker Mechel has completed a pivotal stage of wide-scale upgrades of the Yakutugol coal mining arm's washing plant, the company tells Kallanish.
Mechel ultimately aims to increase washed coal production volumes at Yakutugol by 1.5 million tonnes/year, around 25% of current output. Mechel mined 1.4mt of coal in the first quarter, 15% up on-quarter, it says.
