Mechel agrees major coal supply deal for Asia
Russia’s Mechel tells Kallanish that it is signing a memorandum for coal supply with major Asian universal trading major STX Corporation.
The miner and steelmaker will supply STX with 1.2 million tonnes of coking and thermal coal between January and December in 2010. This will originate from Mechel’s Southern Yakutia facilities it says. It will also supply PCI from its Southern Kuzbass Coal Company.
