Maruichi exports profit spike
Japan’s largest ERW tube mill Maruichi Steel Tube expects profit to jump 40% in the year ending March 2017 to JPY 16 billion ($148 million), local reports suggest. The move would follow a 20% profit boost in the previous fiscal year, Kallanish notes.
The company expects revenues to fall -5% to around JPY 138 billion, according to the Nikkei Asian Review. A -4% drop in Japanese pipe prices is expected to offset a 3% rise in North America, it says.
