Market expects Turkish scrap demand to recover
Turkish mills are seen preparing for scrap purchases for August shipment. Although they are not yet completely back to market, some mills have started inquiring about scrap.
On Tuesday, a deal from the UK was heard. A Marmara mill bought 25,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 80:20 at $496.6/tonne cfr Turkey, 10,000t of shredded at $516.6/t and 10,000t of bonus grade at $516.6/t. The average price of the 45,000t cargo was $505.5/t cfr.
