Marcegaglia seeks coil price increase
Italian re-roller Marcegaglia is seeking a €20/tonne ($23.2/t) price increase on cold rolled and hot-dip galvanized coil, a source close to the company tells Kallanish.
The increase effective this week is also meant to stop the price slide that domestic CRC and HDG have experienced in June. If the move is successful, prices for each product should increase to €620/t base ex-works, the source suggests.
