Malaysia's construction sector rises on year

Malaysia's construction work done by value reached MYR 34.1 billion ($7.15 billion) in the fourth quarter of 2023, an increase of 6.8% over a year ago, Kallanish notes.  The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) says in a statement that the growth in the quarter was reinforced by stronger expansion in the civil engineering sub-sector, which surged by 18%.
