Malaysian steel associations seek suspension of Chinese plant
The Malaysian Iron & Steel Industry Federation (MISIF) and Malaysia Steelmakers Association (MSA) are seeking the suspension of a new Chinese-invested steel project, Kallanish notes. They want the "… immediate freeze of manufacturing licence" for Wenan Steel's 10 million tonnes/year project located at Samalaju Industrial Park in Bintulu, Sarawak.
