Malaysia-China Kuantan JV starts steelmaking unit construction
China's Baoye Group has started construction at the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park steelmaking unit, according to the Baoye Daily. In late November, the China 19th Metallurgical Group started the rolling unit construction of Kuantan project, which is a 3.5 million tonnes/year steel project with a total investment of $1.4 billion, Kallanish notes.
