Major markets’ absence slashes Turkey’s May rebar exports
Turkish rebar exports continued to slump in May, falling by 40.7% on-year to 397,485 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. They also slumped 22.8% versus April.
Their average price, nevertheless, increased to $884/tonne from $625/t a year earlier and $794.5/t in April 2022.
Major market Israel was the largest buyer in May with 41,992t, down 35.9% on-year. Senegal followed with 38,442t versus only 1,962t last year. …
