Maintenance, weak market see Merafe cut ferrochrome output
Merafe’s attributable ferrochrome production from the South Africa-based Glencore Merafe Chrome Venture declined -29% on-year in the third quarter to 60,000 tonnes.
This was the result of increased planned maintenance, increased community unrest, as well as production cutbacks in response to market conditions.
