Magang starts coking project construction
In late November Ma’anshan Iron & Steel (Magang) started construction of its new coking project. It plans to realise self-sufficiency instead of purchasing coke externally, Kallanish notes.
With a CNY 837 million ($118.74m) investment, the project includes two coking batteries, 7m in height. It will utilise coke dry quenching techniques in production, and plans to be commissioned in 23 months.
