Magang resumes blast furnace operation after overhaul
Anhui-based Ma'anshan Iron & Steel (Magang) restarted the operation of its blast furnace A on Thursday.
This blast furnace has a 4,000 cubic-metre volume and 3.2 million tonnes/year of hot metal capacity, Kallanish notes. Magang began the maintenance of this BF in June. Since BF A commissioned in February 2008, it has produced 44.7mt of pig iron for Magang.
