Magang plans new blast furnace
China’s Maanshan Iron and Steel (Magang) plans to build a new blast furnace. The project will begin on 28 July, according to local media sources monitored by Kallanish.
The new blast furnace will have a volume of 3800 cubic metres and a 3.04 million tonnes/year crude steelmaking capacity. Its hot metal will be used for flat and tubular production.
