Magang completes wire rod upgrade

China’s Ma’anshan Iron and Steel (Magang) says it has completed the upgrade of a 500,000 tonnes/year wire rod line at its plant in Anhui province. The firm has also been investing in flat products to increase quality in an attempt to recover margin, Kallanish notes.
