Magang announces converter upgrade plans

Maanshan Iron & Steel (Magang) in China has announced its plan to replace its four 60-tonne converters with two 150t converters, Kallanish notes. The two new converters would have a combined capacity of 3.2 million tonnes/year of crude steel.
