Lower export prices pressure US obsolete scrap prices
Approaching August trading, scrap prices in the US are under pressure due to falling prices on both coasts and high supply of the material.
Although steel prices keep hitting new records each day in the US, scrap prices are likely to decrease in August trading following their strong trend in the previous months. In addition to the downward price trends in EC and WC export destinations, strong flow of the material is exerting pressure on prices.
