Low prices, special deals hit UAE rebar market
Rebar traders and stockists in the United Arab Emirates are confused regarding price differences in the domestic and export markets.
Recently, a United Arab Emirates mill concluded a rebar export deal for a small cargo of 6-7000 tonnes destined to Oman at a price lower than $690/t delivered. Another mill offered rebar to the Kuwait market at $737.50/t landed at the buyer's warehouse, equating to nearly $704/t ex-mill in the UAE, Kallanish learns.
