Lower prices bring deals to Chinese rod exporters

Chinese wire rod exporters have begun to cut prices sharply this week to get market deals. Some wire rod was booked to the Philippines, Kallanish notes. A major mill in northern China is offering at $450/tonne fob; however, mills in eastern China are holding prices at $460-465/t fob.
