Longteng Special commissions new electric arc furnace
Last weekend, China’s Longteng Special Steel hot tested its new 115-tonne electric arc furnace, with 862,500 tonnes/year of crude steel capacity, Kallanish notes.
The company in Jiangsu Province says this indicates the new EAF is officially in operation. Compared with the initial plan, the commissioning is more than five months late.
