Longs drive JSW Steel June-quarter output increase
JSW Steel reported a 12% on-year growth in long products output and 4% growth in flats production in the first fiscal quarter through June to 930,000 tonnes and 2.87 million tonnes respectively. Crude steel output rose 5% to 4.12mt.
Last month the Indian steelmaker said it had received statutory clearances and commenced operations at its Tunga & Nandi iron ore mines in Karnataka, with a 710,000 t/year combined capacity (see Kallanish passim).
