Longs drive Iranian output uptick
Iranian semi-finished steel output ticked up 5.9% on-year to 3.06 million tonnes in the first month of the Iranian year, or 21 March-20 April. Billet and bloom production surged 9.2% to 1.82mt, and slab output was up 1.5% to 1.24mt, Kallanish understands.
According to Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) posts on its online Chilan portal, growth was recorded for nearly all steel products besides hot rolled coil.
