Saudi scrap prices increase on shortage
In Saudi Arabia, merchant billet producers are observing scrap shortages in the Dammam and Riyadh districts. HMS 80:20 grade scrap prices increased by SAR 50/tonne ($13.3) in Jeddah and SAR 100/t ($26.6) in Dammam and Riyadh.
In Jeddah, due to ongoing re-development projects, rebar scrap is utilised from demolished buildings and supplied to buyers nearby, Kallanish notes.
