Lingyuan Steel plans blast furnace upgrade
Liaoning Lingyuan Iron & Steel's listed firm unveiled its blast furnace upgrade plan on Thursday 31 August.
The steel mill plans to shut down four existing blast furnaces, including two 450 cubic-meter BFs and two 1,000 cum BFs with a total capacity of 3.39 million tonnes/year. Meanwhile, it will build two new 1,550 cum BFs to replace the old equipment, which will reach 2.71m t/y of iron capacity, Kallanish notes.
