Lingang hot tests new blast furnace
Linyi Jiangxin Iron & Steel (Lingang) in China's Shandong province began to hot test its new 2,770 cubic metre-blast furnace on 26 May. The furnace was constructed by MCC Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation Limited.
The new BF adds 2.31 million tonnes/year of iron capacity to the company, Kallanish notes. In order to get capacity quotas, Linyi Jiangxin Iron & Steel eliminated two 1,260cum BFs having 2.32m t/y of iron capacity.
