Lianyungang reports flat 2015 iron ore imports
The Chinese port of Lianyungang in Jiangsu province imported 46.41 million tonnes of iron ore in 2015, down slightly from 46.82mt in 2015. The port mirrors the trend across China, where supply has increased but demand has not, Kallanish notes.
The average price of imports predictably fell from $95.57/t in 2014 to $54.25/t in 2015. This compares with a similar drop in Kallanish’s index for 62% Fe Australian fines over the same period from $96.56/t to $54.12…
