Lianfeng Steel receives converter upgrade permission
Jiangsu Province-based Lianfeng Steel has received the environmental permission for the converter upgrade project at its No.3 steelmaking factory, according to the Department of Ecology and Environment of Jiangsu Province.
The company intends to replace three existing 50-tonne converters with a 170t converter having 1.87 million tonnes/year of molten steel capacity, Kallanish notes. The final product will be 1.8m t/y of billets.
