Lebanese bar imports, scrap exports slump
Lebanese imports of bar under HS code heading 7214 rose 1% on-year in June to 43,608 tonnes, according to Lebanese Customs data monitored by Kallanish. Imports in the first half of 2019, however, slumped -27% on-year to 221,454t.
Rebar accounted for 194,047t of H1 imports, with an average value of $490/tonne. This compares to a full-year 2018 tonnage of 595,162t and value of $555/t. Ukraine was the largest supplier in H1 with 56,634t, followed by Saudi Arab…
