Leader Steel earnings slump on lower revenue

Malaysian steel products manufacturer Leader Steel reported lower profit for the year ended 31 December, 2022 (FY22) due to lower steel selling prices and proportionately higher material costs, Kallanish notes. The group’s net profit plunged 75.39% to MYR 6.5 million ($1.45m) in FY22 from MYR 26.4m a year ago. Its revenue for the full year slipped 4.27% to MYR 221.79m from MYR 231.68m a year ago.
