Latin America`s steel production drops in April
The Latin American steel industry saw its production dip on-year in April impacted by the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the regional steel producers’ association Alacero says.
The decrease reflects the low demand and halted operations in response to the effects of the slowdown. Alacero estimates that this situation will persevere until the third quarter and will be the norm for the industry in the short term, Kallanish notes.
