Latin American pig iron output drops in May
Latin American primary iron production fell both year-on-year and on-month for the second consecutive month in May, steel producers' association Alacero says in its latest report monitored by Kallanish.
Regional primary iron output reached 2.38 million tonnes in May, -33% down on-year. This volume was also -1.7% less over April. Of this total, pig iron production was 2.02mt, while sponge iron amounted to 358,000t.
