Latin American first-half finished steel imports/exports slide
Latin American finished steel imports and exports both fell year-on-year in the first half of 2019 and in June alone, according to data issued by steel producers' association Alacero, monitored by Kallanish.
In June the region imported 1.69 million tonnes of finished products, or -17.5% less than in May, while these in H1 2019 were -2.4% down at 11.6mt. During June, the countries that most reduced imports were Mexico (180,000t) and Brazil…
