Latin American crude steel output slips in February
South American and Mexican crude steel production decreased year-on-year in February, according to latest data from the World Steel Association (worldsteel) monitored by Kallanish.
South American crude steel output totalled 3.28 million tonnes in the second month of 2019, -5.8% downy-o-y. During the first two months, crude steel production was 6.93mt or -1.5% less than in January-February 2018.
