Latin American crude steel production slips in June
South American and Mexican crude steel production decreased slightly year-on-year in June. Nevertheless, Latin American output remains up in the first half of 2018, according to data from the World Steel Association (worldsteel) monitored by Kallanish.
South American crude steel output totalled 3.39 million tonnes in June, down -0.4% y-o-y. During the first half of 2018 crude steel production amounted to 21.7mt, up 2.4% on H1 2017.
