Latin America first-quarter finished steel imports grow
Latin American finished steel imports increased while exports fell year-on-year in the first quarter of 2019, according to data issued by steel producers' association Alacero, monitored by Kallanish.
In March alone the region imported 2.1 million tonnes of finished products, 9% more than the same period of 2018, while Q1 imports were up by 4% to 5.9mt.
