LatAm's February crude steel production decreases: Alacero
Latin America saw crude steel production fall sequentially and year-on-year in February, Kallanish notes.
According to steelmakers’ association Alacero, regional crude steel production reached 4.54 million tonnes in February, down 10.8% on January’s volume of 5.09mt and also 6.6% less on-year. Of this volume, 2.33mt were produced through the blast furnace route and 2.2mt by electric arc furnaces. Two-month output was 4.6% weaker on-year at 9.63mt.
