LatAm crude steel production dips in August

Crude steel production in South America and Mexico decreased both on-year and month-on-month in August, according to the latest World Steel Association (worldsteel) data monitored by Kallanish. The region's crude steel output totalled 3.34 million tonnes in August, down -11.0% versus the same period in last year. In the first eight months of the year crude steel production amounted to 28.11mt, a decrease of -5.8% over January-August 2018.…
