Latin American primary iron production recovers on-month
Latin American primary iron output increased on-month in October, steel producers' association Alacero says in its latest monthly report monitored by Kallanish. Production includes data from seven countries.
Regional primary iron output reached 3,145,700 tonnes in October, 4.7% more over September but down by -5.7% on-year. Of this total, pig iron production represented 82.3% or 2.59 million tonnes, while sponge iron amounted to 554,300t.
