LatAm crude steel production improves in July: Alacero
Latin America saw crude steel production rise sequentially in July. Output, however, remained weaker year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
According to the steelmakers’ association Alacero, regional crude steel production reached 4.71 million tonnes in July, up 76,900t on June’s volume of 4.63mt but 10% less on-year. Of this volume, 2.18mt were produced through electric arc furnaces and 2.53mt by blast furnaces. Seven-month output was 8.6% down on-year at 33.…
