LatAm crude steel production falls in December
South America saw crude steel production fall month-on-month in December, as did Mexico. Full-year output, however, was higher compared to 2020, Kallanish notes.
According to the latest worldsteel data, South American output totalled 3.45 million tonnes in December, down 12.6% over November and 8.7% down year-on-year. 12-month production amounted to 45.58mt, up by 17.8% y-o-y.
