LatAm crude steel production decreases in February: Alacero
Latin America saw crude steel production fall sequentially in February, says regional steelmakers’ association Alacero. Output was also down on-year although insignificantly, Kallanish notes.
Regional crude steel production reached 4.83 million tonnes in February, down 10.3% on January’s volume of 5.38mt and just 0.6% less on-year. Of this volume, 2.42mt were produced through the blast furnace route and 2.41mt by electric arc furnaces.
