Indian conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won a major pipeline contract from Kuwait Oil Co. (KOC), following a “… stiff international competitive bidding,” Kallanish Steel’s sister publication Kallanish Energy reports.

The deal was awarded to L&T’s Hydrocarbon division and is valued at roughly INR 1.7 billion ($261.54 million). The Indian company will be in charge of the engineering, procurement and construction of a new 48-inch crude line. The onshore infrastructure will run from northern Kuwait, to Ahmadi in southern Kuwait.

The project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2020. Other details such as capacity volumes and when construction will begin have not yet been disclosed by L&T.

The Kuwaiti state oil firm manages production and exports of oil and gas with the associated facilities from more than 12 developed oilfields in the country. The oilfields are split into four major parts: North Field, West Field, South Field and East Field.
