Laminados Industriales brings plate production back to Argentina
Argentina will resume production of hot rolled thick plate used in the shipbuilding industry, Kallanish notes. Production in the country was restarted by local company Laminados Industriales (LI) on 31 May after a pause of nearly 50 years.
“Our objective is to supply the local and regional market, strengthen the profile of national steel products and substitute imports,” says LI executive director José Pablo De Martino.
