Laigang plans to sell Xinjiang subsidiary

Laiwu Iron & Steel (Laigang) hopes to sell its Xinjiang subsidiary at a price of CNY 3.294 billion ($499.67million), according to the Shandong Property Rights Exchange Centre. Laigang Xinjiang was established in August 2011 and local government websites show it has 2.47 million tonnes/year of iron and 2.6m t/y of steelmaking capacity. The plant was never fully utilised, however, and in 2013 it only reported 540,000t of iron and 487,400t of crude steel output…
