Kyoei Steel to cut rebar production through August
Japan’s Kyoei Steel announced that it would urgently cut rebar production to get through the summer period of rising costs and sluggish demand.
Over July-August, the company plans to reduce actual rebar production by 20% (about 10 days) compared to the original plan, Kallanish notes. Further cuts will be considered if necessary.
