Kuwait rebar prices jump in line with scrap
Kuwait’s largest steel producer, Unisteel, has increased its 8-40mm diameter rebar price, effective Thursday, by KD 45/tonne ($148) to KD 265/t ($873) ex-mill, from KD 220/t announced in the third week of February.
In the retail market, locally-made rebar is expected to be transacted at KD 272-275/t, Kallanish notes.
"We knew this was going to happen – even the date of it, exactly on 10 March,” comments a local sector participant.…
