KPS pursuing US Steel Canada buy, sources say
The private equity firm currently in the process of buying bankrupt steelmaker Essar Steel Algoma may also be seeking to buy fellow bankrupt Canadian steelmaker US Steel Canada, Kallanish learns from local media reports.
KPS Capital partners is expected to close on the purchase of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario’s 4 million short ton/year Essar Steel Algoma complex on or before August 31.
